Pricing questions

Is the free version really free?

Yes. Files up to 500 MB, one at a time, any output size, no watermark and no account. Nothing is uploaded in either version.

What does Pro add?

Input files of any size, a batch queue that compresses several files in turn, a preference for the hardware video encoder, and remembering your settings between visits.

Will Pro make compression faster?

It asks the browser to use the hardware video encoder first. The free version leaves that choice to the browser, which often picks hardware anyway, so you may see little or no difference on some machines. Pro is mainly about file size limits and batches.

Is it a subscription?

No. It is $19 once. Payment is handled by Creem; you get a license key by email.

How do I activate it?

Open the activation page, paste the key from your Creem receipt and press Activate. That page is the only one that contacts a server, and it sends only the key and a device label.

Does Pro work offline?

Yes after activation. Compressing never needs the network. Roughly once a month, opening the activation page re-checks the license, and Pro keeps working if you are offline at that moment.

Can the free limits be avoided?

The limits are enforced in your browser, so a determined person could get around them. They are a convenience limit, not a lock. If the tool saves you time, Pro supports it.

How many devices can use one key?

One key can be active in 3 browsers or computers. Deactivate one on its activation page to move it. Please do not share your key.

Plainsum Video Pro

Pro is a one-time $19. It takes input files of any size (free stops at 500 MB), compresses a queue of files one after another, asks the browser for the hardware video encoder first, and remembers your settings.

After you pay, Creem emails you a license key. You paste it on the activation page, which is the only page that talks to a server. Compressing a video never does.
